Walking into the restaurant, I saw kangaroo simbols so my first thought is would it be an Australian restaurant? Fay, owner of Skippys Pizza later explained to me that Skippys Pizza has pork meat in their menus but no kangaroo meat! Skippys Pizza was started by Fay and Marc, initially as a food delivery service and now has two restaurants with this uptown restaurant is the second branch.
I want to say thanks Fay for extending this food review invitation to me and my friends to dine in Skippys Pizza at Uptown Damansara recently. The following are the food presented for the evening dinner.
Garden Salad with Crispy Pork/chicken - RM 15.00
This is my favourite dish of the day. The salad is full of flavors, sweet, sour, salty all in the dish. But the star of this dish is the small round pieces of deep fried crispy pork. I can feel the crispiness exploded in my mouth when chewing together with the fresh crisp vegetables. A must order dish when you are at Skippys Pizza!
Goulash Soup - RM12.00
Taking pride in own secret recipes and sauces, this is the first time I tasted a spicy pork soup. Yeah, the soup base is spicy with pieces of pork belly. Tastes good and suitable for people who love spicy soup.
Skippys Glutton Pork Burger with Fries - RM25.50
Nowadays, I seldom see pork burgers sold in restaurants in Malaysia, so this a welcome dish indeed. Burger is made up of a big piece of meat patty, bacon, fried egg and mushrooms.
Spaghetti Bolognese (spicy/non spicy) - RM16.90
Inline with the name, Skippys Pizza, The Real Pork pizza, this spaghetti bolognese is made up of lots of minced pork. A dish that has the right portion of spaghetti and generous amount of minced meat that is suitable and filling enough for dinner.
Ultimate Hawaiian Pizza: 9" - RM28.90 and 12" - RM35.90
I was told this is the popular dish, the Ultimate Hawaiian Pizza. There are pulled pork, sausage, bacon, pineapple and pieces of cut chilli on top of thin crust pizza base.
Unlimited supply of sauces with this two jars of garlic and special sambal sauce
