Are you a cinema goer? Let me rephrase it. Do you watch movies at cinemas? If it's yes, then it will interesting to know that cinemas and cinematic experience have advanced a lot form the 70s and 80s. I remember going to watch movies sitting on a single layer hard plywood seats and having to tilt my head 90 degrees up if seated on front row. These are nostalgic memories that children nowadays are not aware of. Cinemas and the seats have advanced drastically and I was invited to review new cinemas from two well known companies in just this one week!
In this blog, I am going to tell you about the new cinematic experience in Bona cinemas at Resorts World Genting. Bona Film Group is an integrated film and television production, distribution and exhibition company. In the year 1999, Bona is the first private firm to receive a film distribution licence from Chinese state. Since then, it has become one of China's largest film production houses, created over 230 films, including titanic hits like Operation Red Sea (紅海行動), Project Gutenberg (無雙), Big Brother (大师兄), The Taking of Tiger Mountain (智取威虎山), The Grandmaster (一代宗师), Flying Swords of Dragon Gate (龙门飞甲), Dragon Tiger Gate (龍虎門) and Confession of Pain (傷城). In February 2018 this year, Bona opened its first overseas cineplex in Resorts World Genting after having 61 theatres in China under the Bona brand. With plush comfort and cutting edge technology, Bona cinemas have since its opening have succesfully giving guestsopportunity to watch hit movies in Mandarin, Cantonese, English, Korean and Thai. The latest addition of IMAX and Gold Class with D-Box is another avenue to give cinema goers in Sky Avenue a new experience!
IMAX technology is actually derived from the word Image Maximum. IMAX is considered the gold standard in motion picture immersion, able to capture images of greater size and resolution to bring even the smallest of details and sounds. Although some movies such as those from Christopher Nolan; are made with full IMAX video format (which is ten times larger than stadrd theatre 35mm format) but films at Bona Cinemas have undergone a proprietary Digital Re-mastering process to truly bring the original movie to life. Resorts World Genting Bona Cinema's IMAX hall have seats of up to 250 viewers, each one encased in a bubble of audio-visual paradise that propels the movie-watching experience to a whole new level.

Immersed yourself in luxury in this Gold Class VIP D-Box cinema at Bonia Cinema at SkyAvenue, Resorts Worlf Genting! Housing only 48 viewers, these seats are quiped with he dynamic feedback of D-BOX technology. Bringing rea cinamatic experience to the max, every seat is has D-Box patented motion system with four levels of intensity control, which swivels and tilts on a two-axis configuration. Meaning you can control the motion manually according to the level of speed and motion you prefer.
Other than the motions, you can also tilt the seat backwards and the leg support up according to your choice.
These seats really brings guests into the thick of the action in the movie. A very good example, I saw Mortal Engine in this D-Box theater, I can feel the movements of the train going over the rough terrain turning left and right, shaking violently. Cinematic feel is brought to greater height with the efficient latest Dolby Atmos audio system that wraps the audience with three-dimensional sound.

There are 6 (six) halls in Bona Cinemas, covering 38,348 sq. ft. All halls are equipped with the latest Dolby Atmos sound system. Snacks are availbale at concession staand and I find the pop corns here especially tastier and crispier than other cinemas! (hmm... me a glutton foodie, looking for food everywhere and cna't help reviewing the texture of food too). Bona Cinemas is located at Level 1 of Sky Avenue, same level as the newly opened Adventureland and the Skytropolis Funland (soft-opened on 8 December 2018)
